How Can You Help?

Help With Local Disaster Response

This most recent national tragedy and subsequent bio-terrorism scare urges us all to action, which will strengthen our interfaith partnerships and disaster preparedness in our local communities.

As you work at this time to empower your own faith group's capacity, we at NCIDR ask that you also consider how you might assist us at NC Interfaith Disaster Response in developing broader-based interfaith disaster response groups throughout our state.

We are asking for your help in our work for disaster preparedness at this time in several ways:

  1. Encourage interfaith disaster response preparedness involvement within your faith group/denomination through education, training and information.
  2. Pass this information and opportunity for action and training on to your faith group's leaders throughout the state.
  3. Provide us with contact information of interested community and church leaders from your faith group, who can work with NCIDR in forming local interfaith disaster response committees in local communities (cities, counties) where your faith group has congregations. Contact us at 919-510-9193 to assist.
  4. Share your faith group's leadership and expertise with the larger interfaith community through working with us in this NCIDR program of capacity building, program training and education for response and recovery.
  5. Invite NCIDR to meet with you and/or other leadership for more information.
